The Business Basics Grant Program Applications Open soon. Are you ready?

Did you know that, if eligible, the Queensland Government will pay your business $5,000 for website projects? Queensland grants for small business are coming up and here is the low-down…

If you business is registered for GST, employs less than 20 staff, has a QLD headquarter and an expected turnover of $300,000 or less for the current financial year ending 30 June 2021, you’re in for a good chance to secure the latest Queensland Government grants on offer to help new and emerging Queensland businesses. The government encourages applicants to support local business.

The Queensland Grants for Small Business 2021 guide

Business Basics grants aim to support Queensland’s emerging businesses in order to increase business confidence.

How much is each grant for?

A minimum of $5,000 (excluding GST).

When do the applications open?

Date grant applications open: Monday 31 May!

How do I apply?

Go to the Business Queensland website on Monday to find the link to the online application form.

In the meantime, you can preview the grant application form here.

When do the applications close?

Applications will close when the Government receive enough applications for a competitive assessment or 30 June 2021 – whichever is the earlier.

It is recommended you submit your application as early as possible.

How is my grant application assessed?

Please be aware that this grant program is competitively assessed. This means that the grant will be assessed against the criteria detailed in the grant guidelines and awarded based on a competitive review process. This means that some applications may be unsuccessful.

What do I need?

A quote: You’ll need evidence how you will spend the grant money with a supplier’s quote detailing the scope and pricing of the project for a minimum cost of $5,000. To request a quote complete a contact form here.

A quote can equal more than $5,000 but only $5,000 in grant funding will be available for successful grant applicants.

A statutory declaration (download form here) declaring that:

  • your business has an expected turnover of $300,000 or less for the current financial year, and
  • your business meets all grant eligibility criteria outlined in the Business Basics Guidelines.

Preview the application form to have all information and documents ready to apply. The online application form will become available on Monday 31 May, 2021.

Can an agent or accountant submit my application?

No, applications must be submitted by the business, not an agent or other party as you will be entering into a legal agreement with the Queensland Government.
